It isn't my fault! I just wanted to play,
All bundled in clothes that get in my way.
And this scarf is the worst thing under the sun,
It's scratchy, and ugly, and it weighs a ton!
Grandma says orange is cheerful and bright,
But wrapped 'round my neck it just doesn't feel right.
Mom says it's special, all knitted with care,
But special or not, it's no fun to wear!
But I built me a snowman, so round and so neat,
With coal for his eyes, and stones for his feet.
Then this frosty snow fellow just gave me a grin,
As if saying "that scarf belongs on
my chin."
"Fine, you can have it," I said with a sigh,
And I wrapped it 'round with a wink of my eye.
Now he's smiling and cozy, and looking quite dressed,
In my precious scarf! But he wears it best.
The walk home is cold, and the wind cuts right through,
Mom told me to wear it, but what could I do?
That snowman was clever to act super-cold,
But next time I'm sure that I'll do what I'm told!
